KEYS AND VALUES

 

Introduction:

In my tutorials, I will be using key and value charts to help see the options an entity has. In radiant, press the 'n' key and a new dialog box will pop up. You will see near the bottem where it has two text boxes along with key and value. Keys are the options and values tell it what it should be. Below is a key and value chart and have some common keys and values that entities have, expect to see more charts like this in the next tutorials.

target targets another entity when an event occurs (for trigger brushes when touched, and lights when cut on/off).
targetname what is being targeted by another entity. Should have an arrow pointing at it.
angle angle, points the entity at the direction it should be looking at (for player start locations points where the player should spawn looking)
