Introduction: 4LM0ST is an advanced mapper that has created all sorts of level incuding deathmatch, bagman, and Crash Squad, a Kingpin modifiction. He has made maps levels for other games and plans on continuing to make map for KIngpin. Interview: 1) Please introduce yourself My name is Daniel Alm aka 4LM05T, I am 17 years old and live in Sweden. I have a huge passion for level design. 2) When did you start mapping and what other games have you mapped for? I first started mapping for Duke Nukem 3D, I don't remember what year it was. I borrowed it from a friend and saw there was a level editor with it so I started playing around with it. I made a few maps but never released any, thank god. 3) Why Kingpin? After testing the demo I found that I really liked the game so I bought it. The thing that got me into it was the atmosphere which was better than in any game I had ever played before, and also the possibility of playing such a beatiful game on my old 200Mhz Pentium. The atmosphere in the maps made me interested in mapping for it.
It depends on what kind of gameplay I feel like playing at the time. If I like playing bagman I'll make a map for it. 5) What in your opinion is the best map you've ever made? I like to think that my latest map is my best so that would be Team Palace, but it's really hard to say. I just hope people enjoy playing my maps and that's enough for me. I'll let them decide which one they like best.
8) Have you ever wished you could model, code, or skin? Yeah I wish I could do all of that but as long as I find mapping fun I think I'll stick with it. Maybe I'll learn something else later on. 9) Do you have any other in particular mappers that are role models to you? All the ones that made maps for Kingpin. The mappers at Id software, Raven, Rogue (Alice) and a bunch of custom mappers. There's too many of them to mention them all. 10) Thanks for your time. Do you have any last words? Still can't think of something :) Contacts: Email Almost@Poisonville.com or visit his mapper's resource site: Map-o-Matic. Comments? Suggestions? email me at zirco@gamebox.net.
